This is my wall after making the thumbnail drawings that i mentioned in my earlier posts!

This is just one of the pictures of the apple that i did. This is the one I painted and my favourite out of the 6 that i did.

I don't usually use colouring pencils so i though it was a good time to experiment when doing the bark of the tree. The line of red was where it looked like the bark was rusting.
For this version I used a stick and indian ink, i really enjoyed this because I felt like I wasn't as rigid when i was drawing.

This is the hinge of the gate which I uploaded a picture of earlier, I used water colour pencils for this drawing

For another of the drawings I used oil pastels. It was probably my least favourite material to use but it was still good to try it out!!
This is a picture of a page from my sketchbook. I began to look at an apple as it decayed to show the movement of time. I took pictures and did quick sketches, it was from these that i progressed onto my thumbnail drawings in different mediums!

When i talked to my tutors they said that i should look at ageing and wrinkles everywhere and not just in fruit so i took a few pictures of a tree on the college grounds. I found the bark on the tree fascinating the way it kind of weaved.

In relation to architecture I began to look at some of the cracks in pavements and walls and at the peeling if paint. All which to me seem like signs of ageing.

On the way to college one morning I came across a gate where a lot of rusting was visible. This is another sign of movement of time and so i took a photo which i then used for creating my multiples of thumbnail drawings.

This was my first mind map having recieved the title of the project.

The title of our project is movement and motion, one which is so broad that it can be hard to end up on a single idea to start with. I started off with the word movement and the word motion in the middle of a page and brainstormed untill i could see links and repitition. I ended up with the idea of movement of time. When i explored the idea some more I became fascinated with the ageing process not just in humans but all over, like in fruits, architecture and rusts. I started to do thumbnail drawings in different mediums. I will upload some pictures later!  These drawings mainly look at the wrinkles/ lines which appear over time. At the moment I'm trying to keep producing these small drawings and introducing some 3D into it and see where it takes me!
